Can I open my account before I arrive?

No. In France, you have to be physically present during an appointment to open an account. Your operator will arrange your appointment upon arrival.

Do I need any special documents?

In order to open your account, you will need the following documents: -Identity document -Letter of acceptance from your institution/employment contract/hosting agreement -Proof of address (rental contract, accommodation certificate, invoice, etc.).

Is this necessary if I am European?

It depends on your situation. For some accommodation and some operations, a French bank account will be necessary. This is why we strongly recommend opening an account.

Is it necessary if I have an international account?

For certain procedures such as applying for housing benefits, online international accounts do not always work. We recommend opening a French account as this will simplify the process.

How long does it take to open an account?

You can open an account as soon as you arrive, on the same day or the following day depending on the working day. In general, you will receive your RIB (bank details) directly, and will receive your bank card after a few days.

Is it necessary to have a French number?

No. However, you may be asked to provide one during your stay, particularly for certain administrative procedures.

What type of SIM card can I get?

If you subscribe to the SIM card option, a pre-loaded SIM card with 15giga will be provided to you on arrival. Afterwards, you will either have to recharge it or subscribe to a new package. Our team will be able to guide you in this process.
